Rochdale Pioneers Museum

By Huckleberry Films, Oct 30 2012 11:24AM

We were invited to the official launch of the revamped 'Rochdale Pioneers Museum' on Toad Lane in Rochdale, with the reception held at the impressive nearby St Mary in the Baum church. The museum celebrates some of the earliest Co-operators, and today Rochdale is considered by many to be the home of Co-operatives. International Co-operators, the Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, and supporters of the museum attended the event, as well as descendants of the original pioneers!

We first became involved with the Co-operative Heritage Trust at the end of last year, when we made a short animated film about the story of the Pioneers, and were delighted to see that some of our designs from the film had been used to create a backdrop for the speeches, as well being used in the Pioneers booklet and even in the museum itself. It was exciting to watch as Co-operators from all around the world posed in front of the display.

Dave posed in front of his designs on the display with the museum booklet - and on the right of the image you can see a screenshot of me as the animated narrator to the film - Rocky from Rochdale!

It was a really fantastic night all round, and we felt honoured to be invited and be part of such an exciting event and a part of the ongoing legacy of the Rochdale Pioneers.
