Meet some of the talented local people who supply the One Planet shop in Accrington, and find out about how and why they make their products.
'Making it local' was commissioned by the One Planet shop, a community benefit co-operative in Accrington which sells a wide range of organic, Fairtrade and local products. The shop was set up by volunteers who raised £15,000 in shares from local people. www.oneplanet.coop

In this promotional film Huckleberry Films animate the thoughts of current students as they discuss their reasons for choosing St. Mary's College to study at. The film uses a unique mixture of animation, live action, green screening and photography to bring the interviews to life. The film will be used to engage future students, and showcase the facilities in a fun, informative way.
Animated film capturing peoples thoughts about their favourite places in Accrington. Featuring interviews with the public and pieces written by The Written World writing group. The film was brought to life as part of the 'Liberating Empty Terrain' community art scheme and the characters were inspired by clay models and drawings made at public workshops. A fusion of live action, animation and collage techniques.
Animator David Pownall from Huckleberry Films shares his enthusiasm for creating animated films. As he talks about the process of bringing images to life, we can gain an insight into the methods and techniques he uses.
Commisioned by Friends of the Earth as part of their Fix the Food Chain campaign. Huckleberry Films were asked to write and create a short engaging animated film to highlight issues around rainforest destruction and soy feed in South America.
The team worked with musicians to create an original musical soundtrack, and sourced voice artists to narrate Soy Story, including hip hop artist Scroobius Pip, and Lancashire comedian Bernard Wrigley.
New Pioneers
The inspiring story of the Rochdale Pioneers has been brought to life in this animated journey, tracing the impact of working co-operatively. The film includes original photos and source material from the Co-operative Heritage trust archives.
The film was commissioned for the Rochdale Pioneers Museum and Co-operative Heritage Trust as part of the Co-operative outreach work taking place in the North West.
Commissioned by charitable trust Lytham in Bloom on behalf of Lancashire County Council, Huckleberry Films documented the variety of activities and attractions available in Lytham. Capturing the 250,000 spring daffodils, and town-wide summer floral displays, as well as heritage buildings like Lytham Hall.
Lytham is competing against international competition in the 'Communities in Bloom' event, and this film will be used to support the towns entry; as well as being a promotional advert for the area.
Huckleberry Films were commissioned by Mid Pennine Arts to document heritage projects taking place in Pennine Lancashire in Summer 2011. Young people worked with artists to interpret the history of their towns, and produce creative new pieces of art.
Filmed in Costa Rica in Central America, Huckleberry FIlms worked with a charitable animal sanctuary to create an informative introduction to the volunteer programme they offer to visitors. Filmed over the course of 2 weeks, every aspect of the sanctuary work is covered, including shots of baby sloths, and a rare sighting of a wild sloth swimming.
The film is used to inform prospective volunteers about their stay, and attract interest from potential new applicants.
Young people from St Christophers C of E High School and Sixth form in Accrington worked with the Prospects Foundation environmental charity to encourage their local community to start growing their own fruit and veg.
The film documents the process, which included meeting Accrington Stanley and Blackburn Rovers football players. The young people used the finished film to support their bid in the nationwide NPower Climate Cops SOS challenge - and were awarded second place.
